Technical Parameters
Gaodian Technology Co., Ltd. is one of the most reliable manufacturers and suppliers of 220kv composite insulator in China. With abundant experience, we warmly welcome you to buy advanced 220kv composite insulator made in China here from our factory. We also accept customized orders.
The 220kV Composite Insulator, also known as a polymer suspension long-rod insulator, is designed for use on 220kV overhead transmission lines. It provides electrical insulation and mechanical support while offering a lighter and more practical alternative to traditional porcelain or glass insulators.
The insulator consists of an ECR fiberglass core rod, an HTV silicone rubber housing and metal fittings on the both end. The silicone rubber sheds provide good hydrophobic performance, helping the insulator maintain reliable insulation under polluted and wet operating conditions.

Key features & benefits
Good Hydrophobic Performance
The housing is made of High-Temperature Vulcanized (HTV) silicone rubber, which provides good water repellency and hydrophobic transfer properties. This helps reduce the formation of a continuous water film on the surface and improves pollution performance in areas affected by salt spray, dust, or industrial pollution.
High Mechanical Strength
The insulator uses an ECR fiberglass core rod to provide the required mechanical strength for transmission line applications. It is designed to withstand mechanical loads caused by conductor tension, wind, and line vibration during normal operation.
Lightweight Design
Compared with porcelain or glass insulator strings, composite insulators are considerably lighter. Their lower weight makes transportation, handling, and installation easier, while also helping reduce the mechanical load on transmission towers.
Durable and Low Maintenance
The silicone rubber housing has good resistance to weathering and impact. Unlike porcelain and glass, the composite housing is not prone to shattering during handling or under impact. Its hydrophobic surface also helps reduce the need for frequent cleaning in polluted areas, which can lower maintenance requirements over the service life of the line.
Reliable End-Fitting Connection
The metal end fittings are connected to the fiberglass core rod using multi-point crimping technology. The connection is then properly sealed to help prevent moisture from entering the interface between the fittings and the core rod.
Available end-fitting configurations include Ball & Socket and Clevis & Tongue, depending on the line design and customer requirements.

FAQ
Why use composite insulators instead of porcelain insulators?
Composite insulators are significantly lighter and offer good pollution performance, making transportation, installation and maintenance easier.
Can the creepage distance be customized?
Yes. Creepage distance, mechanical load, overall length, shed configuration and end fittings can be designed according to project requirements.
Can you provide customized 220kV composite insulators?
Yes. Custom designs can be developed based on the customer's technical drawings, line requirements or existing insulator specifications.
