The primary functions of 33Kv pin type insulator are electrical insulation and mechanical support and fixation.
Overhead high-voltage conductors carry high-voltage electricity, while utility poles and cross-arms are grounded metal components; the silicone rubber sheds and epoxy fiberglass core rod insulate the live conductor from the grounded tower, preventing leakage current, pollution flashover, and lightning flashover, thereby avoiding electric shock accidents and line tripping.
The long bottom stud secures the unit to the pole cross-arm, while the top wire groove or clamp grips the high-voltage conductor; it bears the conductor's dead weight as well as wind and ice/snow loads, providing stable support and serving as a replacement for traditional porcelain pin-type insulators.
